Hydro Jetting

How Does Hydro Jetting Work?

  1. Inspection: A plumber will first inspect the sewer lines using a video camera to identify the exact location and nature of the blockage.
  2. Preparation: The plumber will prepare the hydro jetting equipment, which consists of a high-pressure water hose and nozzle.
  3. Jetting Process: The nozzle is inserted into the sewer line, and water is blasted at pressures between 4,000 to 60,000 psi, depending on the severity of the blockage. The high-pressure water effectively removes debris and cleans the pipes.
  4. Final Inspection: After the cleaning, a second video inspection may be performed to ensure that the pipes are clear and in good condition.

Benefits of Hydro Jetting

  • Thorough Cleaning: Hydro jetting not only clears clogs but also cleans the entire pipe, preventing future build-up.
  • Environmentally Friendly: This method uses only water, making it a safe and eco-friendly option compared to chemical drain cleaners.
  • Long-Lasting Results: Hydro jetting can address the root cause of recurring clogs, leading to fewer plumbing issues over time.
  • Versatile: It can be used on residential and commercial plumbing systems, as well as for various types of pipes, including PVC, cast iron, and clay.

When to Consider Hydro Jetting

  • Persistent clogging issues that traditional methods cannot resolve.
  • Slow drains in multiple fixtures.
  • Foul odors coming from drains.
  • Before a significant plumbing renovation or installation.
  • Regular maintenance for older plumbing systems.
